Colour Grading | Cinematic Wedding Films

Finishing Touches

Here at Beautiful Life we think a Wedding Film should be exciting and visually engaging for all who view it. Thats why we put so much time and effort into making sure that the colours are vivid and look as stunning as they do when you watch a movie or visit the Cinema. One of the ways we do this is by adjusting the colour balance and contrast through colour grading and correction. This adds depth to the video and ensures that colours look similar throughout the whole video. It also makes viewing a more enjoyable experience as the colours are more striking and intense. I could bore you with all the gory technical jargon and detail but instead I thought I would post some “Before and After” shots taken from a current Sikh wedding video I am editing. All our Cinematic Wedding Films are colour enhanced throughout to give you a cinematic look and feel.

Bhupinder and Sukhjit Preparations

Back in January I posted Bhupinder’s Pre-wedding Sikh Ceremonies on my blog. The first was his Jaggo Ceremony and a few days later I posted his Vatna/Maiya Ceremony. Since then Bhupinder has spent a lot of time choosing the right songs for his main wedding day and has recently updated me with his choices. I have just completed the first part of his wedding day covering the Bride and Groom Preparations which takes you to just before the families met outside the Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Bedford. This section of the day is cut to music and will lead into the Ardaas and Milni Ceremonies which will be produced with the original audio.

Lawrence - May 20, 2010 - 8:13 pm

Absolutely love your work. i am just starting out and would love to be at this level in the next few years. What cams do you use if you don’t mind me asking?

Beautiful Life - May 20, 2010 - 8:22 pm

Thanks Lawrence. Feel free to send me links through for any of your wedding Videos. Always nice looking at others work and sharing thoughts. I use two Sony Z1′s at the moment and a Glidetrack which gives me some great HD footage. But as always saving up for my next cameras to replace these in a few years time. Thanks again for your kind words.

Christian - May 22, 2010 - 4:23 pm

Sikh Pre-Wedding Ceremonies ⎮ Maiya, Vatna, Choora

Makhan & Anita

It was a real privilege to film Makhan and Anita’s Pre-wedding Sikh Ceremonies and Wedding Day recently. They were a very relaxed and fun couple which made filming their day so much easier. Before the main day I was asked to film the Maiya, Vatna and Choora Ceremonies which are all important Sikh Pre-wedding Rituals. The Maiya and Vatna Ceremony take place a few days before the wedding day and is where scented powder made with barley flour, turmeric and mustard oil is smeared on the Bride or Groom’s body in their respective homes. This was followed by the Choora (Bangle Ceremony) which usually takes place at the Bride’s home but on this occasion took place at the Highlands Hotel nearby. This is where the maternal Aunt and Uncle of the Bride place red and white bangles on her wrist with ornaments made of silver and gold (Kalira) tied to the bangles.

Here are Makhan and Anita’s Pre-wedding Ceremony Highlights. Please feel free to leave comments and click the Icons to add the video to your Facebook, Twitter or Buzz Accounts. The rest of their Sikh Wedding Video will appear here soon.

Ed + Wendy | Langley Priory

In October we filmed and Photographed Ed & Wendy’s wedding at Langley Priory in Derbyshire. We started the Bridal Preparations at the manor house and finished with the first dance at the Park Plaza Hotel in Nottingham. Ed + Wendy were a fantastic couple and both Joy and myself thoroughly enjoyed our day with them both. Here is a mini-montage wedding Video of their day (internet version) covering the first part of their day.

Here is Part 3 of Dave Nunn Studios Wedding Photography Promotional Video covering the group shots and the Bride and Groom time at Moxhull Hall. Dave and Emma were fantastic to work with and I think the three videos gives a valuable insight into how relaxed and fun these guys are in their approach to wedding Photography.
