A fantastic entrance with Indian Dhol Drummers leading the way at Bhupinder and Sukjit’s wedding. This Sikh wedding video was filmed at the Bedford Corn Exchange, Bedfordshire which was beautifully decorated. The drummers were great as they made their way through the guests to the front of the room ready for the Bride and Grooms cutting of the cake. This takes a lot of skill but these guys were absolute pros!! The Dohl is a two sided drum (has it’s roots in the province of Punjab) and is used for special occasions of celebration such as weddings. Enjoy!!
When I first started in the Wedding Video industry I only had english weddings in mind. But now 4 years later and so much has changed. My wife has joined me in the business as a Photographer and we now regularly film and Photograph English, Asian, Jewish, Greek, Chinese and other European Weddings throughout the UK. This is what makes our work so exciting. One day we can be filming a wedding in a beautiful Castle in Scotland and the next day we can be filming a Chinese wedding banquet with Fire Crackers and Lion dancing or a events for Sikh weddings such as Sangeets, Chunni’s and Mendhi Parties. At last count we have filmed 17 different types of weddings throughout 2010.
Over the coming weeks I will be sharing small sections/ceremonies from some of my weddings with the hope of giving you an insight into our diverse filming. Here is a section from a Hindu Wedding Video I have just completed. Hindu Wedding ceremonies are one the most favourite events I film. The ceremonies last approx. 2 hours but here is a small section showing the “Sacred Fire Ceremony” known as the “Viva-Homa.” Fire symbolises purity and spirituality and at the time of Pratigna-Karan the Bride and Groom walk slowly around the sacred Fire seven times. Enjoy!!
Here’s our nice new logo which has just got back from our designers!! All part of a fresh new look which will see some tweaks and changes to our website and blog over the coming weeks. We’ll soon have a fresh new look ready for 2011.
It’s been a very busy week filming in Northampton, Cheshire and Sheffield. I filmed a stunning Hindu Wedding on Thursday, a Civil Hindu/Yugoslavian wedding at Kelmarsh Hall on Friday, and an English wedding at Tatton Parkon Saturday. Today I filmed a Promotional Video in Sheffield at Whirlowbrook HallWedding Fayre on behalf of White Media. I had a fab day meeting lots of different suppliers and after travelling home I managed to finish the Promotional Video for White Media. Enjoy!!
