The two main topics from the BMF Members day were the economy and the Green Deal. Dr Andrew Sentence spoke about how the recovery is shaping up and what it means for the industry in the short term. David Purvey looked at the Green Deal and discussed regulations for merchants and their customers. This was followed by workshops with the chance to debate and discuss ideas and experiences. I really enjoyed this filming the BMF Members day and here is the Podcast from the event.

What a beautiful day!! The sun was shining and it was a stunning autumn day as potential bride and grooms queued at the door over an hour early to get in. There was a real excitement about this venue. But who can blame them, surrounded by english countryside, lakes, parkland and Bramley apple orchards, Norwood Park is the ideal wedding venue for any couple wishing to have the perfect day. As a wedding videographer I loved this place!! There were some fantastic suppliers at the  Norwood Park Weddings Fair. Cakes, cars, jewellery, photography, chocolate fountains, more photographers and my personal favourite – hand made wedding chocolate demonstrations. But I do love chocolate!! So to taste what I have been filming is always nice!! The wedding Fair was pretty busy for most of the day and overall I think it was a real success as brides kept flooding in!! Well done Sue!! The Victory Show was held over two days and included historical re-enactments from the 1940′s which were so realistic that it made you feel like you had been transported back in time!!

However, the highlight of the day had to be filming the World War II reenactment!! This happened later in the day after a safety briefing about how to keep my arms and legs attached whilst running across a field with rigged with explosives. I was filming the american infantry as they advanced forward towards the germans which I was so looking forward to. Before I knew it I was in a truck and heading with the rest of the convoy across a large field towards the germans. Once there we  jumped out and soon I was in the thick of it running like a madman across a field with haystacks on fire, loud explosions and machine guns going off all around us. There was so much to film and the next 15 mins went so quickly!! It was incredible!! I don’t think I have ever felt so out of breath after filming!! What a privilege!! This is what I love about event Videography!!

Anyway, here are a few clips from the footage I collected and edited from the day which I would love to share. Every now and then we come across a company who adds something really different to the day. Last wednesday I was at Southwood Hall, Cantley in Norfolk filming a wedding and met a fantastic catering company called “The proper Pizza Co.” They were cooking the most delicious pizza’s I have ever tasted on a wood fire!! They really were delicious!! These guys added something really special to the day and the Bride, Groom and their guests looked like they were enjoying every mouthful. As well as wedding videos, I love to also promote wedding suppliers who are a little different and the best at what they do. So thought I would just put a little video together for all those planning weddings as these guys were fantastic and offer a great experience!! They were such a lovely couple to work with and I’ve been really looking forward to starting work on their Indian Wedding Videos for some time now. The first event was their engagement ceremony which took place at the City Rooms in Leicester. The engagement ceremony is an important event as it marks the start of the wedding ceremonies. The engagement ceremony is known by a number of different names such as misri, aashirwad, chunni chadana, mangni or the ring ceremony. As a filmmaker I always feel privileged capturing friends and families as they celebrate and meet each other for the first time and present gifts, sweets, jewellery and clothes to the bride and groom.  This was followed by the most important part – the exchanging of rings and a toast to celebrate the happy couple. After the ring ceremony Sunita & Ravi danced and then we headed into the town centre for some engagement photographs at the Dollymix Vintage. We had a great time and got some amazing footage. I love Asian weddings as they’re always so full of colour and emotion!! Anyway, here is their engagement video – enjoy!!

As an events Filmmaker I really love my job!! Belvoir Castle is the perfect venue for any wedding photographer or wedding videographer but this evening it had opened it’s beautiful surroundings to 10,000 spectators who had gathered to see this amazing show. There were 3 of the UK’s best firework companies competing against each other in a 10 minute pyromusical choreographed to music. I was filming on behalf of Komodo Fireworks who were up 2nd and their Pyromusical Fireworks display was outstanding and by far the best of the night. I wasn’t surprised when they stole the show with over 75% of the votes. I film a lot for these guys and know how much effort and passion they put into their work and so a big congratulations to the team as they deserved to win!! Well done!! As a Videographer and filmmaker I love events like this. The natural light, incense burning and ornate details of the church make it so much more amazing to capture these special occasions. After the Baptism we went to Eastwood Hall in Nottingham for some fantastic Greek dancing, Candy floss by Candy Buffets and face painting. The funeral took place at the Albert Munn Chapel at Kettering Crematorium. This was a military funeral with Flag Bearers leading the way and friends and family beautifully sharing precious and emotional memories of a life which will be so dearly missed. Funeral filming is always a challenge as they’re such difficult situations to be in and we have to work hard to keep a low profile and be discreet to those attending. However, it really is a privilege to be trusted to capture these very sensitive moments. As Videographers and Photographers we get asked to capture special and important moments for our clients and and as storytellers funerals are no exception. To capture and record these precious memories and form a film for future generations to learn from and understand where they came from is an amazing thing. We love what we do!!

Victoria and Jamie’s wedding at Tatton Park was a fantastic from beginning to end which got better as the day continued. Just after the Wedding Breakfast the Bride and Grooms families had organised the Waiters Encore (singing waiters act) to perform for all the wedding guests. The waiters masquerade as staff and then burst into amazing performances of opera songs with lots of funny twists and turns as they go.

Waiters Encore were recently featured on channel 4′s Celebrity Come Dine with me. I have to say that  they were nothing short of amazing!! They completely wowed the audience, were fantastic to film and will make a fantastic part of their wedding video.
