Wedding Trailer | Whatton House and Gardens

Today I have Amy and Matthews wedding trailer to share with you. They were a lovely couple to work with and the day started with me in Nottingham filming the Bridal preparations. Great light, nice relaxed bride and bridesmaids and then off to St Andrews Church in Kegworth, Leicestershire which is just a few minutes away from my home to film the ceremony. As a wedding videographer I don’t often I get the opportunity to film locally as so many of my weddings are much further away. The Vicar at St Andrews Church was fantastic and an absolute pleasure to work with. She made it so easy for me and the photographer to capture the ceremony. Afterwards we headed off to Whatton House and Gardens – great wedding venue!! Love the gardens, colour and space to explore!! All great for helping us wedding videographers and wedding photographers to get some great images – as you will see in their wedding trailer!!

Jewish wedding Video Manchester | Claire & Simon

I have a Jewish Wedding Video from Manchester to share with you today. It was nice to be filming in Manchester again, this time for Claire & Simon’s Jewish wedding. Claire & Simon had tons of energy and I really enjoyed my time with them. Their day started with bridal preparations, which is always a great opportunity to relax into things and get some great shots!! After the preparations it was off to the Manchester Reform Synagogue on Jacksons Row to film the Tish. A traditional Jewish wedding always begins with the grooms tish (which is Yiddish for table) and basically consists of the men heckling the groom and drinking whisky!! Always a great part of any Jewish wedding video!! After the Tish the bride arrived and after the B’deken (veiling of the bride) had taken place everyone made their way towards the Huppah (canopy) where their Jewish wedding ceremony took place. Due to limited space I was only allowed to film from the balcony which was a little unusual but with a little planning managed to capture everything. After the wedding ceremony we headed to the Lowry Hotel in Manchester where I have filmed a number of Jewish wedding video’s in the past - so I was on familiar ground. The Lowry Hotel is a great wedding venue and as always they did a superb job of decorating the room where the reception was held. The lights were amazing and once the bride and Groom entered the action was none stop with jewish dancing, speeches and much more jewish dancing filling the rest of the night. I love jewish weddings and really enjoyed my time with Claire and Simon!! Here are the Jewish wedding Video highlights from their day!! Enjoy!!

Jago Ceremony Video | Punjabi wedding | Jarnail

Sikh Punjabi wedding rituals are vibrant, elaborate and ritualistic and the same applies to pre wedding events. A few days ago I shared the highlights video from Jarnails Maiyan ceremony and today I would love to share his next Jago Ceremony. This is another pre wedding event I love to film. For those who don’t know the Jago ceremony is a fast paced and energetic event and often the most well liked as the Jago Ceremony further heightens the excitement of the wedding festivities. The Jago ceremony usually happens the night before a Punjabi wedding and is a chance for friends and family to rejoice and dance together in celebration. A pot (gaggar) is decorated with candles and carried on the head whilst dancing and singing jago songs. The word jago means “Wake up” and gets everyone in the mood for whats to come. The Jago Ceremony starts with the aunt colourfully dressed in a traditional Punjabi Ghaghara and with her dancing with the pot on her head. The pot is then passed around the rest of the family and friends where they take their turn in the Jago alongside everyone else.

A few thoughts from Jarnail

1) Tell us about your Jago Ceremony
Traditionally the Jago ceremony is started by the mothers side of the famiy to signal the start of the wedding celebrations. They made a very loud entrance, dressed in colourful traditional outfits and set the tone for a great party. The edgbaston reservoir provided a lovely setting for the night and was topped off brilliantly by great live entertainment, good food and drink and a very merry crowd!

2) What did you like best about your Jago Ceremony?
I think the Jago night was the day I could really let go and enjoy myself. There were no ceremonies/rituals I had to worry about which meant I could concentrate on meeting and greeting my guests, alot of dancing and a enjoying a good few drinks!

Sikh Punjabi Wedding | Jarnail’s Maiyan Ceremony

We love Asian Weddings and here is the first of a number of films from Jarnail & Urvinder’s Sikh Punjabi wedding earlier this year. I loved working with these guys as they made the most of every moment and ensured everyone had a fantastic time. Before a Sikh Punjabi Wedding can get underway the Maiyan Ceremony has to take place at the family home. Over the years I have filmed lots of Maiyan and Vatna Ceremonies and they have to be one of my favourite pre wedding events. The closeness of the families, the love and emotion that flows between everyone is what makes Maiyan ceremonies so beautiful to film. And this day was no exception!! It was a gorgeous day with stunning light and everyone really enjoyed themselves as they began the ceremony. It was a great start to their Sikh Punjabi Wedding and here is a little highlights video of their day squeezed into a few minutes. Enjoy!!

A few thoughts from Jarnail

Q1) How would you describe yourself?
I would describe myself as a happy go lucky chappy, full of confidence who enjoys living life to the max. I enjoy going out with friends and socializing at pubs/bars restaurants. I am very proud of being a british sikh, and enjoy learning more about my religion and culture. I would say that I am most attached to my family. Very sporty person, enjoy playing football, cricket, tennis and a big manchester united fan.

Q2) What is a Maiyan Ceremony?
I would say that the maiyan ceremony is a cruel chance when the family get to cover me in smelly gooey paste!! But ive been told its a ceremony which prepares the birde and groom for the wedding day. I found the ceremony surprisingly relaxing. Everyone was joking about with me, singing along in the background and I got to have a little moment with everyone turn by turn as they took turns to get me!!

Q3) What was your favourite part of the day?
Think the favourite part was the actual vatna. I had all generations of my family cracking a joke and giggle with me, from grandma, mom and aunts, sisters and nieces and was nice to share a brief moment with all of them. This will be the memory that I will cherish most.

Q4) How did this prepare you for your wedding day?
I remember looking around, and seeing genuine happy faces on the guests which in turn bought a big smile on my face and remained for the rest of the day. I never looked back and tried to make the most of every moment there after. Everyone still comments on how much fun they had and more importantly I really enjoyed the day.

Save the Date Video | Lee & Amy

A few weeks ago Lee & Amy travelled from Luton to Beacon Hill forest in Leicestershire to film their Save the Date Video. Lee & Amy are getting married next year at Downhall Country House Hotel in Hertfordshire and wanted a creative way to share their wedding date with friends and family. They loved a previous Save the date video I had done last year but wanted to make theirs slightly different. So they arrived ready with canvases, paint and lots of enthusiasm and we headed off to Beacon Hill to film their Save the Date Video. The weather was hit and miss to begin with but after a while the showers stopped and the sun came out – which gave us some nice soft light through the trees. Lee & Amy were great fun and me and Joy are really looking forward to capturing their chinese wedding next year. About Lee & Amy

1) How and where did you meet each other?
We met at University of Westminster, been friends since then.

2) When and where are you getting married?
We will be getting married on Sunday 6th May 2012 at The Down Hall Country House Hotel, Hertfordshire

3) What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?
We have taken alot of time and thought on our wedding preparations and we are looking forward to sharing and enjoying our day with our family and friends. The wedding day will be a combination of both Western and Chinese traditions. We are hoping to have the look and trends of a contemporary Western style wedding but at the same time incorporating some tradional Chinese aspects.

4) Why did you have a Save the Date video?
The Save the date video is something quite new to the UK and after seeing one we felt it fitted in with us as a couple. Lee has a keen a interest in videography, so we felt this way of communicating to our friends a family suited us perfectly. It was also abit of fun for us, planning and filming the video. It would be great to be able to show our kids in the future (if any!) !

Norwood Park Weddings | Promotional Video

Yesterday I filmed a promotional video at the lovely Norwood Park Weddings fair in Nottinghamshire on behalf of Sue at White Media. What a beautiful day!! The sun was shining and it was a stunning autumn day as potential bride and grooms queued at the door over an hour early to get in. There was a real excitement about this venue. But who can blame them, surrounded by english countryside, lakes, parkland and Bramley apple orchards, Norwood Park is the ideal wedding venue for any couple wishing to have the perfect day. As a wedding videographer I loved this place!! There were some fantastic suppliers at the Norwood Park Weddings Fair. Cakes, cars, jewellery, photography, chocolate fountains, more photographers and my personal favourite – hand made wedding chocolate demonstrations. But I do love chocolate!! So to taste what I have been filming is always nice!! The wedding Fair was pretty busy for most of the day and overall I think it was a real success as brides kept flooding in!! Well done Sue!! Langley Priory Weddings | Video Michael & Nicola

Here’s another super wedding video to share with you all. Michael & Nicola live in Dubai but travelled back to the UK for their wedding at St Andrews Church, Prestwold in Leicestershire. I knew from the start they were going to be fantastic to work with and I wasn’t disappointed. The day started with some light showers but these soon passed, the sun came out and everything got underway!! As a wedding videographer I love it when the sun shines!! Once the guests were inside, the bridesmaids and Nicola made their way down the long drive towards the church and before long Nicola and Michael were husband and wife!! After the ceremony we left for Langley Priory in Derbyshire for the wedding reception. I have filmed a number of weddings at Langley Priory before and love this wedding venue!! With rose gardens, perfect lawns, lakes and beautiful surroundings it’s the perfect pace for an english wedding!! Anyway, here is there Wedding Film and a big congratulations to Michael & Nicola!!

Indian Wedding Video | Kelham Hall Weddings | Sunita & Ravinder

As event filmmakers and photographers both Joy and me love Indian weddings!! We love the colours, details, food, music – in fact it’s safe to say we love everything about Hindu weddings!! Which is a good thing as we now do so many of them. Over the last few weeks Joy has added lots of wedding photos from Sunita & Ravi’s Indian engagement, Sangeet, Indian wedding day and wedding reception. A few weeks ago I posted their engagement video and today i’m going to share their Indian Wedding Video highlights from Kelham Hall and I have to say I am loving this video!!

The day started with everyone arriving nearly two hours late after being stuck in some serious traffic!! But eventually the groom and guests arrived and everything got underway. After the “tying of the Sehra” (a ceremony where the grooms sisters tie a veil of pearls over his face) the groom climbed onto an Asian White wedding horse named Rachel!! Everyone danced around the horse as Ravinder made his way towards Kelham Hall to greet the brides family and then headed into Kelham Hall for a bite to eat. The food was made by the lovely Jush Events (nice to work with you guys again and love your food so much!!). The mandap was stunning and the room was lit perfectly – which makes it so much easier for us videographers and photographers. Sunita made a stunning entrance and I loved the moment when they both saw each other for the first time once the veil had been lowered. The rest of the day was so beautiful, but enough from me and here is their Indian Wedding Video highlights from their big day!! Enjoy!!

Kelmarsh Hall Weddings | Serena & Ivan

Kelmarsh Hall is a romantic 18th Century house set in the Northamptonshire countryside and was the perfect venue for Serena & Ivan’s wedding day. The light was perfect, the weather was great and the gardens and surroundings were perfect for us wedding photographers and wedding videographers to capture some lovely imagery. Shortly after the guests arrived they had their civil ceremony in the main room and after the signing of the register made their way down to the lawn at the back of the house for their wedding reception. With home made Raki, traditional Serbian dancing and a fantastic accordion player they all soon got into the swing of things. The day then finished with the cutting of the cake and instead of a first dance they had a “First Drink” of Taquila. Fantastic day!! Fantastic couple and here are their wedding video highlights.

A FEW THOUGHTS FROM SERENA & IVAN

Q1) What was the favourite parts of your big day?
Seeing Serena walk down the aisle. She took my breath away. And the speeches. They were quite simply the best. Hilarious, emotional wonderful stories. We had our wedding spread over 2 days and it was just a wonderful time to share with all our loved ones.

Q2) What do you love about being married?
Getting my ironing done. Only now that we are married will Serena do mine.

Q3) Why did you want a wedding film of your day?
Just as a really nice way of remembering the day.

Q4) Any advice for future bride and grooms?
Trust your gut. We didn’t really have a pattern or a tradition to follow and we very much wanted to make our own identity stand out. It was great to see it all come together so well but there were no guarantees. I guess sometimes you just have to go for it and hope for the best. We certainly did.

Peckforton Castle Weddings | Asha & Brian

A little while back Asha & Brian called me all the way from Dallas in the USA and asked to book us to film their wedding at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire. I was really looking forward to filming their wedding as it’s a stunning venue for wedding photography and videography. And with guests travelling in from all over the world, including the USA and India, it was the perfect backdrop for their day. After the bride and groom preparations they had a “Humanist Ceremony” in the castles Hexagonal room followed by a fantastic bride and groom time with the wedding photographers in the woods where the light was just amazing!! The wedding breakfast and the speeches were great and later that night Asha threw her bouquet which was followed by their first dance. A few thoughts from Asha & Brian

1) Why did you want to get married in a castle in the UK? We wanted to get married at “home” and the venue was suggested to us by a family friend who also got married there, and its a castle, come on!
2) What was unique about your wedding? Our wedding was unique because we had guests from all over the world, India, all over the US
3) What was your favourite part of your day? Our favorite part of our wedding was our ceremony, we had lovely readings and a friend sang Adele “Make You Feel My Love”
4) What do you love about being married? We love being married. the end.
5) Why did you choose Beautiful Life to film your day? I honestly chose beautiful life photography because of your professional looking website, videos, and feel I got from it. Planning a wedding across the sea took alot of trusting my gut about vendors.
6) Any advice for future bride and grooms? My advice for future brides and grooms would be to relax! everything will turn out beautifully and also to not try to please everybody! its not possible.
