Samantha and Jaspreet

Samantha + Jaspreet’s Story

Our story so far……………

It was September 2003 at a Doctor’s cocktail party when we first met.  Jaz had just qualified and we were both working at Musgrove Park Hospital in the surgical department.  We finally had our first date on the 9th December when we went to the cinema to watch Love Actually.  We spent the next couple of months getting to know each other and it was clear from the beginning that we were completely in love.

In August 2004 Jaz left Somerset and moved away to pursue his dream of a career.  It was the most testing time for our relationship as we were living 4 hours a part and both working long hours.  In May 2005 I decided to transfer to Lincoln County Hospital so that we could be together again.  We loved living together and started our own little family by getting a dog (Hugo).  We then decided to expand our family further and got a second dog (Apollo), and a year later a third (Shakespeare).

On the 26th April 2008 we went for a walk whilst on holiday in the Lake District.  We went to Aira Force and whilst crossing the bridge over the waterfall Jaz got down on one knee read a beautiful poem he had written and asked me to be his wife.  It was incredibly romantic and I didn’t hesitate to say yes – I had been waiting for this moment for almost 6 years.  We both decided that we didn’t want a long engagement and that we would get married the following year.

It was the end of January 2009 we finally booked our wedding at Dumbleton Hall Hotel.  I only had 5 months to sort out photographer, flowers, string quartet, menu options, guest list etc.  At this stage I wasn’t sure if I was going to have a wedding videographer.  I thought it would be a good idea to have handmade invitations, menus, order of service, place cards and table plans that all matched.  I spent hours and hours on these and even got Jaz to make the favour boxes with me until 3am.  It was so tiring but worth it, it really made our day feel so personal.

Whilst searching for a photographer I started to wonder about a wedding videographer and came across a couple of site and got some sample work.  I wasn’t impressed and thought what a waste of money.  I then received the sample from Beautifullife and booked with them the same day.  The wedding DVD was so professional the sound and picture quality was so amazing and I could feel so much emotion from watching the weddings.  With the wedding videographer and everything booked it was just a countdown to the big day.

Our Fairy tale wedding

The day before the wedding I arrived at my parents, they were brilliant.  I had my brother and dad collecting bridesmaid and wedding dresses, and then they got all the flowers and transported everything to the venue.  Mum helped, as I decided the day before to make flower arrangements for the tables.  By 7pm I was at the venue and ready for our big day.

I woke up to a bright morning at 5.30am, and walked around the venue.  I updated my facebook status to say that I was already awake and noticed my husband to be had done the same.  At 8.30 the make up artists arrived with the hairdresser shortly after.  By 11.30 the room we were getting ready in was an absolute mess, hair spray make-up, music, underwear, shoes, it was at this point I remembered the lady making the cake was coming.  I ran downstairs in my dressing gown make-up and hair half done and found her finishing the cake off which looked beautiful.  I was delighted to see that this had been captured on film.  I returned to our room which I could now barely even get into and we decided to move to the bridal suite.

The wedding photographer and wedding videographer were there whist we all had final touches.  It was so strange I worried before about being filmed whilst getting dressed but I wasn’t even aware of anyone else other than my sisters being there.  I even wondered after if it had been filmed. I was called to see the registrar and remember walking down the stairs which at the time seemed to be going on forever, when I reached the bottom my gorgeous little nephews were waiting for me.  I went to see the registrar with my dad, and the got so nervous I almost fainted and had to sit down and have a sugary drink.  I soon recovered and was ready to walk down the aisle.

As the music started I could feel my heart racing and my respiratory rate had rapidly increased.  Then I saw Jaz and couldn’t stop smiling.  I was so nervous that I had the giggles to start with and that was shortly followed by tears.  We made it to the end of the ceremony and instantly both relaxed it was so surreal.

Following the ceremony we went outside to release some doves, which have been beautifully captured on the footage, we also had some formal pictures taken.  The day was going by so quickly and yet still I was unaware of what had and hadn’t been filmed,  I was wary the photographers were about as they asked us to pose but I couldn’t tell you if the videographer had been there.  As it happens he had captured every moment but was almost invisible to us throughout the day.

It was soon time to sit down (the only time I did sit) and enjoy some food.  Prior to the meal I said a few words as it was Father’s day and then we enjoyed a three course meal.  It was melon and tropical fruit for starter, followed by Roast beef and then a white chocolate champagne torte for afters – which was really enjoyed by some family members in particular who decided one was not enough – you know who you are : )  The speeches soon approached and my father took great delight in revealing embarrassing stories from my childhood, although I think I got off lightly compared to my sister’s the month before.  Jaz then made his speech, thanking everyone and talking of how we first met, once again I came over all emotional but I think I just about held back the tears.  The speeches finally finished with the best man who kept his speech brief and talked about love.  Fortunately for Jaz that was all he talked about so there were no embarrassing stories for him.  As the evening guests started arriving we cut the cake an amazing 3 layered, chocolate, sponge and fruit cake, which was so well designed to match my wedding dress detail and then came the evening, it was time for some music and dancing.

When we were called for our first dance I couldn’t believe it was so late already, I wanted our day to go on forever.  It was so perfect if I could have our wedding all over again would I change anything?  Perhaps one thing- I would have a wedding videographer for the whole day and evening as well.  The moments that have been captured are magical.  The day goes so fast it is impossible to see and remember everything and our montage has been worth every penny.  There is no other way a bride can see what the groom did prior to the wedding and vice versa.

This truly was our fairytale wedding, the day I dreamt of since I was a little girl and never imagined it to be so perfect.

Just saw this on your page whilst watching our wedding clip for the 30th time
This just captures so much, you have these amazing videos to hold on to, I am going to make sure we have a video camera before we start a family. With Joy’s beautiful photos and this clip it just makes you realise that you have to capture these moments and hold onto them.

I cannot thank you enough. I cannot believe how much emotion is captured in our full montage. There is so much going on and I think what you have produced is out of this world. My family have seen it and they too are delighted with the final montage. I have no doubt they will leave some comments too.
THANK YOU
