Sikh Weddings

Some of the most exciting events I get to film have to be Sikh Weddings. When I first started filming Sikh weddings several years ago I was so taken aback by the emotion and detail a Sikh Wedding. As a Wedding Videographer I love the opportunity to capture beautiful colours and moments and Sikh weddings have to make some of the most stunning wedding videos. A Sikh Wedding is about the “Blissful Union” of two souls and is a special time where two individuals are joined together in equal partnership. Although their are minor differences between each Sikh wedding, most follow a similar format. The main wedding day begins with preparations at home followed by the departure of Braat where everyone departs together to the Gurdwara. Once at the temple the Ardas is performed followed by the Milni. Once everyone enters the Gurdwara hymns are sung and the groom presents money and a rumala. Soon the bride joins her groom and sits down besides him after which the rest of the ceremony continues to unfold. Once finished parents and guests will congratulate the bride and groom with cash. Afterwards it’s usually photographs with the Bride and Groom followed by the recption, some great dancing and then back to the Bride and Grooms houses in the evening.

Here are some videos form some recent Sikh Wedding Videos I have filmed.
