Over the last few months Joy has uploaded lots of photographs from Ravi and Sunita’s Engagement Ceremony, Indian Sangeet, Indian Wedding Ceremony and reception. They were such a lovely couple to work with and I’ve been really looking forward to starting work on their Indian Wedding Videos for some time now. The first event was their engagement ceremony which took place at the City Rooms in Leicester. The engagement ceremony is an important event as it marks the start of the wedding ceremonies. The engagement ceremony is known by a number of different names such as misri, aashirwad, chunni chadana, mangni or the ring ceremony. As a filmmaker I always feel privileged capturing friends and families as they celebrate and meet each other for the first time and present gifts, sweets, jewellery and clothes to the bride and groom. This was followed by the most important part – the exchanging of rings and a toast to celebrate the happy couple. After the ring ceremony Sunita & Ravi danced and then we headed into the town centre for some engagement photographs at the Dollymix Vintage. We had a great time and got some amazing footage. I love Asian weddings as they’re always so full of colour and emotion!! Anyway, here is their engagement video – enjoy!!

Sonya + Simon Wedding Video Teaser

Here is the wedding video teaser from Sonya and Simon’s day at Eastwood Hall in Nottingham. I’ve been looking forward to editing this video for a while now as they had one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. Whilst filming the guest activities late in the day I saw this incredible sunset and and asked Sonya and Simon if they just wanted to take advantage. They were so up for it and so we went running up the hill before we missed it and arrived just next to a field where the views were stunning.

The sky was just amazing and had about 15 mins to capture some great Bride and Groom shots before the sun went down. have put them together into a quick wedding Teaser just to wet their appitites whilst I finish editing the rest of the video.

Pre-Wedding Video

Here is Bhupinders Sikh pre-wedding Video (Jaggo) which took place in Leicester. This video is just the highlights from the evening which lasts about 6 mins. All the dancing was filmed (with original sound) but there is too much to upload so I will upload a few minutes worth soon.

The Ceremony of Jaggo

The ceremony of Jaggo is an event which close relatives and freinds are invited. This takes place at night some nights before the wedding day. A copper vessel is decorated (called gaffar, with diyas (lamps) made of atta (wheat flour) and another one of the ladies carries a long stick with ghungroos (small bells) tied to it. The ladies sing and perform a traditional dance called the giddha. Usually the mehendi and sangeet ceremony follows that of jaggo. This is an occasion for celebration with all family and friends being invited. Mehendi is applied on the bride’s hands and the other girls of the family too apply mehendi.

VIP Event at Lumbers Jewellery Shop

A few weeks ago I filmed at Lumbers Jewellery Store which had been transformed into a Michelin Star Restaurant for 3 nights on the run up to Christmas. Champagne in the Yellow Diamond Showroom, models exhibiting Jewellery and a 4 course meal followed by X Factor Star Ruth Lorenzo performing to the audience. What a night!!!

I got some really great shots from the night which has made a beautiful Cinematic event video. Here are the highlights/montage from the evening:
