For me event videography is one of the most rewarding things I do. As a videographer I love any opportunity to film social and corporate events. So I was really excited when Dave from Sinvision asked me if I would film with him and his team at the 2011 Victory Show, Cosby in Leicestershire!! The Victory Show was held over two days and included historical re-enactments from the 1940′s which were so realistic that it made you feel like you had been transported back in time!!
However, the highlight of the day had to be filming the World War II reenactment!! This happened later in the day after a safety briefing about how to keep my arms and legs attached whilst running across a field with rigged with explosives. I was filming the american infantry as they advanced forward towards the germans which I was so looking forward to. Before I knew it I was in a truck and heading with the rest of the convoy across a large field towards the germans. Once there we jumped out and soon I was in the thick of it running like a madman across a field with haystacks on fire, loud explosions and machine guns going off all around us. There was so much to film and the next 15 mins went so quickly!! It was incredible!! I don’t think I have ever felt so out of breath after filming!! What a privilege!! This is what I love about event Videography!!
Anyway, here are a few clips from the footage I collected and edited from the day which I would love to share. If you would like to find out more about our event videography then please check out our work. In the meantime the full DVD is available for purchase from Dave’s website at Sinvision. There are tons of interviews with re-enactors, dioramas, fly pasts and the battle in full. The Victory Show DVD link is - http://www.sinvision.co.uk/VicShowDVD.html

A little while back Joy and me were in Mansfield filming and photographing Christoforos’ Greek Christening at the Greek Orthodox Church of Ss Cyril & Methodius. As a Videographer and filmmaker I love events like this. The natural light, incense burning and ornate details of the church make it so much more amazing to capture these special occasions. After the Baptism we went to Eastwood Hall in Nottingham for some fantastic Greek dancing, Candy floss by Candy Buffets and face painting. What a day!! You can view Joy’s Christening Photos on this link and below I have added the mini-highlights of their Event Video. Enjoy!!
Here are a few thoughts from Joanna & John.
1) What was the favourite parts of the day?
The most important part of the day was my son becoming a christian Orthodox and then the celebration of it after.
2)What do you love about being parents?
Watching him grow and seeing the different things he does everyday, he fascinates us!
3) Why did you choose Beautiful Life to capture your day?
We absolutely loved your work on your website, very professional and you captured all the key moments of an Orthodox Christening.
