Heading into Winter

I love to use natural light for photography but with the days getting shorter and the usual British weather to contend with it’s always good to have a few extra tools in the bag.  Recently I have been experimenting with some flash techniques and I think the results are really exciting.

I particularly love this shot.  It was a typical October day, the sky was muddy and dull and it was non-stop drizzle.  Just using natural light it would have been a struggle to make an interesting image but add a bit of flash and look what happens, it freezes the rain drops and adds interest and drama.  This technique would be amazing on a winter wedding shoot.
