Spring has sprung and the babies are arriving thick and fast!  We had the pleasure of doing Bev and Dave’s Wedding Film last year so we were really excited when they rang to say they were having a baby and they would like us to take some photographs.  Here she is, Baby Emilia at just 1 week old.

A quick sneaky peek at baby Bethany’s Newborn Photography shoot.  You’d never tell from this peaceful picture but bethany was a tricky customer!  She gave her mum and I a good run for our money but eventually went to sleep. Congratulations Charlene and Sean, she is lovely.

At just a week old, little baby Liam posed for the camera like a pro!  Liam’s Mum and dad are from the States where Newborn Shoots are a must.  The images are so precious and that sleepy, wrinkly, brand new baby look passes by so quickly I would encourage everyone to capture the moment.

Last week I went to shoot some baby portraits to make some special Christmas presents for the Daddies of cousins William and Rosie.  It was quite funny moving the furniture around  and trying not to leave marks in the carpet that might make Daddy ask questions!!  William loved the camera and was all smiles and Rosie was a very cool customer and made her Mummy work very hard for a smile.  So if you recognise Rosie or William Shhh please don’t spoil the surprise, only 6 weeks to go!

I think this is my favourite image from the shoot, I just caught her day dreaming, looking out of the window.  I am a firm believer that photographing babies is not always about capturing a smile.

Rosie was very much in love with her rabbit ‘florence’.  I love to capture little milestones, a child’s sense of achievement when they learn something new, a reaction to a favourite song, a little interaction with a favourite toy.  Little sets of similar images make great multi-frames.

Had a visit from a little cherub on Wednesday, baby Nathan at just 15 days old was perfect for his first photo-shoot, he was a natural!!  All new babies are sweet but this one is ‘uber-cute’. Congratulations Daniel and Suzie he is totally beautiful! Newborn photo-shoots are high up there on my favourites list, I love the fact that you can mould them into almost any shape and they don’t even notice, their skin is too big and you get lots of wonderful creases and wrinkles, so scrummy!

If you are pregnant and thinking about having a Newborn photo-shoot then it’s a good idea to plan in advance.  In order to capture those new baby moments you need your photo-session to take place within the first two weeks after your baby is born.  If you book a newborn photo-session with us, we pencil you in and then if your baby is a bit early or late we can change the date accordingly.  We keep our newborn sessions very relaxed and work around you and your baby, lots of people worry that they haven’t had chance to tidy up or do their hair, please don’t let this kind of thing put you off, it really isn’t a problem.  As a mum myself I can remember the tiredness and chaos that comes with a new baby and I’m quite good at washing up and making cups of tea!!  Many mums say to me how glad they are that they had a Newborn photo-shoot and that the pictures from their session are some of their most treasured possessions.

When little Alexis was just a bump her mummy called her ‘baby angel’ as Angel is her family name.  During her photo shoot she was a proper little angel full of smiles and then fell asleep at the end, perfect!
