I’m going to be photographing Matt and Megan’s Wedding in October .  They had their ‘Save the Date video‘ filmed on Saturday by Shaun so I went along to assist!! (very helpful I was too!)  Couldn’t resist sneaking out the old camera!!  It was great fun and I took lots of pics even though I’ve got their official pre wedding shoot is in a few days time.  It is days like this when I realise I really do have the best job!

Whilst out scouting for a good location I found this great little spot hidden in the countryside and Matt gallantly lifted Megan through the nettles for a few photo’s.

I love to use natural light for photography but with the days getting shorter and the usual British weather to contend with it’s always good to have a few extra tools in the bag.  Recently I have been experimenting with some flash techniques and I think the results are really exciting.

I particularly love this shot.  It was a typical October day, the sky was muddy and dull and it was non-stop drizzle.  Just using natural light it would have been a struggle to make an interesting image but add a bit of flash and look what happens, it freezes the rain drops and adds interest and drama.  This technique would be amazing on a winter wedding shoot.

I’ve just been to the shops to buy the October edition of ‘Health and Fitness’ magazine because I’ve had a photograph of Stella McGowan from Nike D-Clash featured in it.  It was an awesome feeling to stand in the shop and open the magazine to see a double page spread of my work!!!

Every now and again (quite often actually!) I get thoroughly bored with the domestic stuff and flip out for a while, then its back down to earth because the cleaning won’t do itself, pity!

I know I’m mad!

It was my dads 60th recently so we all went to visit him at the seaside. The kids had a great time on the beach riding on donkeys and playing in the sea.

Who has the best mardy face on the whole of Scarborough beach? Its my Nephew Luke!!

We also visited ‘The Deep’ in Hull and managed to get all the way round without My daughter going for a swim! We spent ages watching the jelly fish they were amazing.
